Where To Watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (2013) Movie

Immediately after the events of the first film, Swallow Falls Island is quarantined after Flint Lockwood’s weather machine (BILL HADER’s voice) forces everything from cheeseburgers to donuts, spaghetti and other places around the world. With Live Corp. a cleaning contract was concluded under the leadership of legendary inventor and CEO Chester V (voice WILL FORTE). Chester, along with his talking monkey aide Barb (KRISTEN SCHAAL voice) immediately orders all residents of Swallow Falls to leave the island and offers Flint a job at his headquarters in Northern California.

Flint happily joins the west coast and moves with his fisherman father Tim Lockwood (voice of James Caan); his new girlfriend, meteorologist Sam Sparks (voice of Anna Faris); with her jack of all trades, Manny (voice of Benjamin Bratt); former Earl of Falls Police Officer Earl (voice of Terry Crews); Flint's naughty monkey, Steve (voice of Neil Patrick Harris); and the former local celebrity mascot, Brent (voice of Andy Samberg). Flint doesn't quite fit into the corporate culture of Live Corp. and flashes when trying to win a promotion contest.

The secretly evil Chester, however, intends to use Flint for his evil purposes. Flint's weather apparatus still seems to be working somewhere on Swallow’s Falls and now produces strange hybrids of food animals such as tacodytes; shrimpanzees; Fla mangoes; and a walking strawberry named Barry (voice of CODY CAMERON). As a result, the entire ecosystem of the island has been changed. Flint, his father and friends believe that they are returning to Lastochkin to destroy the car and save their homes. Chester, however, has a completely different plan once the device is found.

There’s something in the entertainment sequel that might like “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2”. The animation is fun and creative. The narrative is smart and effective, with respect for the intellect of both children and adults. And the cast of celebrities gives all this, which some actors really help - first of all, Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Will Forte and Andy Semberg - gifted with a comic rhythm.

But you want to know what impressed me the most? The fact that the people involved in this money do not make life together! Here is a movie that would be so easy to produce and pre-sell to any number of restaurant chains and major food brands. With the exception of the Subway network, very little is being done to resell this film to you and your children in grocery aisles and along local fast foods. Maybe because the food in this film is crossed with animals, and some of the resulting hybrids - takodyl, a spider with cheese - are more reminiscent of the stunning, champing animals from films about monsters of past years than about Happy Food today. But still. Here you could earn a lot more money. And this time, the overwhelming greed of all parties concerned was restrained.

As a result, the film looks fresh and lively, and is not simply set up to promote the product. Best of all, this sequel literally begins a few seconds after the last film ended with inventor Flint Lockwood (Hader’s voice), who had just saved his island home from Swallow Falls and the rest of the world from the cunning design he created from why he turned into rain food. A helicopter fleet descends on Flint, his father (James Caan's voice), his friends and neighbors, and issues a hologram of Chester V (Forte's voice), a CEO similar to Steve Jobs, with whose company a cleaning contract was signed. up huge piles of food that fell from heaven.

Chester, however, is no good. He wants Flint's device for his own vile purposes. Months pass, the townspeople scatter, and Flint begins working at Chester Live Corporation in Northern California. One day his boss comes to him with a terrible revelation. Somehow, Swallow Falls overtook hybrids of food animals such as shrimp, Fla-mangos, and the aforementioned tacodyles. Flint's invention, obviously, is still in effect and has somehow developed. Chester asks Flint to do what his teams could not do: find him and turn him off. But all he really needs is for Flint to find him.

From there, “Meatball Cloud 2” is fun, PG taking off for films like King Kong and Jurassic Park. The filmmakers show a cunning sense of humor and a humorous sense of cunning everywhere. The film knows when to wink at the audience against the background of absurdity, and when to throw some kind old-fashioned, moaningly obvious puns to force hardy har-har-hars to attack quickly and furiously. Or maybe it is golden and delicious? In any case, I think that you and yours will find this film very interesting and worth the additional cost of money for cinemas showing it in 3D. This is not exactly the cinematic equivalent of a Gallagher comedy concert. But the food does fly away from the screen with great comic effect.

This is not a film that covers the subtleties. Good guys are serious and simple. The bad guy is unacceptably evil. And the message that it is important to respect life and the environment could not be more obvious. But I think that the most remarkable qualities of the film are simplicity and craziness.

I will say that the film really ran out a little before the climax of its show. I think the producers and writers got everything they could from this particular franchise after two films. There were several decent fragments in this film, where it was more interesting to pay attention to all the small random fragments occurring against the background of various scenes than to the main action taking place between the leads in the foreground.

The new Swallow Falls ecosystem is also not entirely thought out. When children of six and seven years of age leave the theater after this, wondering if it is worth leaving a car on such a small island that releases new hybrids of food animals every few seconds. until there is no room left. And what exactly do hybrids of animals and animals eat in order to survive? Together? The film does not pose these questions. But it underestimates the ability to interview its main fans under the age of 10, who always ask “Why?” "How?" and "What if?"

In the end, though, “Meatball Cloudy” is a pleasure and sight to behold. In essence, this is an adventure movie and quest.

It's good?

Since the original made it clear that this cinematic story was very weakly based on the book of beloved children, it was easy to go down in history without biased expectations. To maintain the plot of the food vending machine (that is, Flint Lockwood’s dialectic supermutation dynamic replicator, or “FLDSMDFR”), the authors developed vanity, in which FLDSMDFR can create “live” food that looks and acts like a lot of different real (and extinct!) animal-food hybrids. Some of the frightening predators, such as cheespider, taco-diles and apple pies, will frighten young viewers for a moment, while others, such as Barry's strawberries, fruit cockerel and mini marshmallows, are sweet and hugging.

In addition to the foodimals, this story introduces viewers to new characters that may seem friendly to children, but adults will immediately recognize them as evil - like Chester V (voiced in a completely creepy falsetto from Saturday Night Live alum Forte), a seer who looks like on Steve Jobs, with facial hair, turtlenecks and loud statements. His interest in the naive and uncertain Flint leads to an interesting conflict, and his ape-speaking assistant, Barb (Kristen Schaal), is the type of embarrassed character who just wants to be considered a friend. Focusing on the characters of Live Corp. leaves Flint's friends less, but they manage to add enough comic relief for fans of the first film. As for the soft Barry, the marshmallow family, and Mr. Lockwood's new fishing friends (funny pickles with a love for sardines) - they look like Despicable Me minions - funny bunch of charming.

Talk with your children about ...
  • Families can talk about Hollywood's love for sequels. Do you think Cloudy with Chance of Meatballs 2 matches the original? Want to watch the third movie about Flint, Sam and the gang?
  • How does the film portray technology? Does Chester V remind you of any real person? How does technology change Lastochkin Falls?
  • What is the film's first impression? Why does Flint take so long to see the truth about those around him?
